Design Tips for Custom Show Poms
Match Your School or Team
Start with your main team color(s), then add white, silver, iridescent or specialty materials for dimension.
Pop of Color
Poms look their best when they stand out against your uniforms. If your team’s primary uniform color is very dominant, consider choosing accent colors or adding contrast so the pom doesn’t visually blend in. If you prefer to match your uniform colors, adding Glitter or Flash is an easy way to create brightness and help your poms truly “pop” on the field and in photos.
Outdoor vs. Indoor
If your poms could get wet in outdoor weather, Plastic or Wet Look materials are best. All Pom Materials work well indoors, though many teams prefer Metallic and Specialty for the sparkle.
Movement Profile
Choose strand width and length based on choreography. Narrower, longer strands create more movement. Most performers prefer ¾"–1" width and 4"–6" length, while ½" Show Poms or ¼" Classic Narrow Streamers are popular for sideline cheer.
Pricing Information for Standard Show Poms
Standard Show Pom pricing is simple and consistent.
Within each material type, all strand widths, lengths, and handle styles are the same price. Most pom styles are priced equally, with the exception of BullsEye Poms, which cost slightly more due to their multi-layered construction.
You can also add Glitter or Flash to increase shine and dimension at a lower cost than upgrading to a full Metallic or Specialty pom. This is especially budget-friendly for Plastic and Wet Look poms, where a small amount of added sparkle makes a big visual difference.

Custom Show Pom FAQs
How long does production take?
Our production times for custom show Poms are typically within 5-7 business days (and often times, even faster!). We occasionally do have peak weeks where production can take longer, so we always recommend proactive ordering. So we can serve all of our customers best, we ask you for need date at checkout.
What are E-Z Order Poms?
E-Z Order Poms are our most popular poms pre-designed for you! Simply choose your handle, strand width, strand length and order quantity then add to cart!
Are Poms sold in pairs?
No. Poms are ordered individually. Always order 2 poms per person. Selling individually accommodates the need for coaches order extra poms in any number and/or to order samples.
How much do you charge for Shipping?
We charge a base rate plus a per Pom fee for shipping. Per pom fees vary by material due to how many poms can be packaged in a box. See our current rates and fees on our Shipping Rates Page.
Note: You will see your shipping charges in your cart before you proceed to checkout.
Can I order sample poms?
Yes! We do have Minimum Quantity ordering fees if ordering fewer than 6 poms, but you can order 1 of any style or styles for comparison. Current Minimum Order Quantity Fees are specified on every product and automatically added to the cart.
Can I order color and material swatches?
Absolutely! On our Request Samples page, you can order individual swatches or full booklets. We usually recommend order full booklets unless you just need to a couple of colors.
Do Poms come fluffed or unfluffed?
Your new Poms will arrive partially from the factory. After traveling in a box, they will need you to bring them back to life! This is very easy to do - see our simple Fluffing Instructions
Do your Hair and Shoe Poms colors match your Show Pom colors?
Yes! The colors of plastic and metallic Hair Poms and Shoe & Boot Poms match the corresponding colors of Show Poms. Not all custom Show Pom colors are available in Hair Poms and Shoe & Boot Poms.
